HummusTown is a non-profit organization established to provide dignified income for Syrian refugees seeking asylum in Italy. Founded in 2018 by Shaza Saker, the initiative promotes intercultural exchange through food, primarily focusing on Syrian specialties like hummus.
As the number of Syrian refugees has decreased, HummusTown has expanded its mission to support other vulnerable communities, including refugees from different countries and economically marginalized Italians affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
